“On the occasion of the recent celebration of International Women’s Day, UNESCO launched the call for nominations for the 2020 UNESCO Prize for Girls’ and Women’s Education, financed by the Government of the People’s Republic of China with US$ 50,000. The purpose of this Prize is to reward projects or programs carried out by individuals, institutions or organisations that contribute significantly to promoting the education of girls and women. Each Governments of UNESCO Member States can propose a maximum of three applications, presenting them through its Permanent Delegation or Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in official partnership with UNESCO.
The Director-General of UNESCO has asked for the wide dissemination of this call to all of those interested in the education of girls and women. The award contributes to Sustainable Development Goals 4 and 5: Ensure inclusive, equitable and quality education, promote lifelong learning opportunities, achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.
Attached are the bases and the procedure for submission to this Award, the applications must be submitted to the email of the Department of Coordination of Cultural and Scientific Relations with a copy to this Commission before May 18 (May 17 last day) for consideration.”
